Sigá y Silente, meaning “in a gentle and silent way,” is a unique collaboration between Andalusian percussionist Lucas Zegrí and Greek pianist Yiorgos Bereris. The duo first met in 2021, overcoming language barriers by finding a shared form of expression through music. Their project blends a variety of percussion instruments from Latin American, Balkan, and Middle Eastern traditions—including batá, pandeiro, cajón, and bendir—with a pianistic style that merges jazz and East-Mediterranean influences.

Having performed across the Netherlands, Spain, and Greece, the duo is set to release their debut album, Sigá y Silente, in Autumn 2024. The album features original compositions inspired by flamenco, Afro-Cuban rhythms, jazz, and Greek traditional music, with a special collaboration from Andalusian flamenco singer Blanca La Almendrita.
