Yiorgos Bereris presents Sea in Common, a new musical project and album to be released in April 2026. Moving fluidly between jazz and world music, the project blends Greek and Turkish musical influences with improvisation and a strong melodic identity.

Sea in Common draws inspiration from shared, organic soundscapes: the sounds of nature, festive gatherings, city noise, and everyday life. It is equally inspired by encounters between people who do not share a common language, yet find connection through presence, rhythm, and shared emotion. The music reflects a quiet search for meaning โ€” carrying hope without needing to name it.

Following his earlier works Laros and Sigรก y Silente, Bereris further establishes a distinctive compositional voice that balances structure and freedom, intimacy and collective energy. His music is marked by lyrical clarity, rhythmic openness, and a deep sensitivity to timbre and space.

Ensemble

  • Yiorgos Bereris โ€” piano

  • Yvonne Melissa โ€” violin & viola

  • Lambros Papanikolaou โ€” double bass

  • Ektoras Remsak โ€” drums

Together, the quartet creates a rich and expressive musical landscape in which melody, improvisation, and proven compositional craft meet. Sea in Common is music that invites attentive listening โ€” music that resonates across borders and speaks to shared human experience.

A TRE VOCI

Three singers from three different countries, united by their love of three-part harmonies, share their passion. With only three voices, countless extraordinary melodies, harmonies, and rhythms have been created around the world.

In many polyphonic cultures, three-part singing forms the foundation of local vocal traditions. In Georgia, the three voices are known as Modzakhili, Mtkmeli, and Bani; in Corsica as Terza, Seconda, and Bassu; in Bistritsa, Bulgaria, they are called Okane, Buchat pravo, and Buchat krivo โ€” and the list goes on.

In A Tre Voci, the three voices are Maryana Golovchenko, Nadine Rossello, and Tatiana Lina. Come and experience their interpretations of Corsican, Ukrainian, Bulgarian, Georgian, and other traditional songs.

Each singer brings her own expertise to this experimental project.

Maryana Golovchenko is a singer, musician, cultural entrepreneur, and researcher. Her current focus lies in combining traditional music from Eastern Europe and Ukraine with contemporary musical styles โ€” from classical to jazz and electronic music โ€” as well as with musical traditions from other countries and continents.

Nadine Rossello is a singer, musician, composer, choir conductor, and trainer, specializing in Mediterranean songs and both traditional and contemporary Corsican polyphony.

Tatiana Lina is a singer, musician, composer, choir conductor, and researcher. For more than twenty years, she has studied traditional polyphonic music from various countries and shares this knowledge with her choirs and vocal ensembles.
